home > Artists > Yutaka Sano Caricature by SosukeNarita Originally from Oita Prefecture, Satsu majored in Environmental Design at Yamaguchi Prefectural University. He was already drawing caricatures by the age of 16, and when he was 20, he participated in the NCN Asakusa Mini-con. The global perspectives of the Mini-con opened his eyes to a new level of caricature art, and inspired him to try a variety of new techniques, both analog and digital. While studying abroad, he saw Kage's appearance on the "Soromon-ryu" television show, and was very impressed. Back in Japan, he read Kage's "Sukina koto dake yareba ii" and decided that he wanted to learn directly under Kage. He moved to Tokyo after graduating college, and completed the fourth level of Caricature Japan's professional training course, where he eventually won first prize in the closing competition. After one additional month of practice, he is ready to achieve the great expectations placed before him!
